More and more options keep emerging for getting through our lost Derby Day this Saturday, May 2. Some bourbon experts have one that all the whiskey fans out there are going to love.

Whiskey From Home will bring some of the bourbon industry’s best into your home for a free virtual event that will include educational seminars, tastings, food pairings and cocktail recipes. It will be five and a half hours you can access through YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, dLink, Periscope, and Twitter using Restream.io.

A pair of bourbon experts in author Fred Minnick and Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee Peggy Noe Stevens will headline the virtual event. Sponsored by Rabbit Hole Distillery, Whiskey From Home will feature representatives from Bourbon & Banter, Bourbon Pursuit, Bourbonr, Breaking Bourbon, Dad's Drinking Bourbon, It's Bourbon Night, The Bourbon Enthusiast, The Bourbon Review and others.

To prepare, consult the schedule at the link above, which includes menus of what you’ll need to participate in each of the interactive seminars. Buy the bourbon, food and cocktail ingredients from local stores to follow along with cocktail breaks, along with a virtual food pairing with Stevens and a virtual bourbon tasting with Minnick. Participants can also interact with each other in a live chat and interact with the presenters as well.

The event begins at noon and ends at 5:30.

“This was an opportunity to bring a force of recognizable bourbon names together and build a first of its kind,” Minnick, a co-founder of Bourbon & Beyond and editor-in-chief of Bourbon+ Magazine, said in a news release. “This gives everyone sitting at home that has ever wanted to attend a whiskey conference a chance to do it for free.”
