Logan Street Market announced Wednesday that it will remain open under limited hours until further notice.

A key reason cited in a news release is because The Bodega, an anchor of the urban marketplace, offers retail food sales, from packaged goods to fresh vegetables. It also is a part of the Logan Street Market Foundation, a charitable non-profit.

“Our neighbors are immediately seeing the benefit to avoiding large crowds at superstores and having access to a steady supply of food. With the rest of the Market and it’s vendors severely struggling or shut down completely, The Bodega is just one of the lifelines that we need to survive this incident,” the uncited news release states.

Patrons also are urged to donate directly to the foundation, which will go to help avoid employee layoffs, cover expenses and operations costs and keep the Bodega stocked as well as possible.

The Bodega will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily with a full line of fresh produce, dairy, eggs, pantry staples, beer, wine and spirits, among other items. In addition, it will undergo constant cleaning and sanitization to ensure the health of guests and employees. Touchless payment also is offered.

Several other vendors will remain open as well:

  • The Breeze Wine Bar & Spirits,  2-6 p.m.

  • FOKO, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. for carry-out and delivery

  • Country Meat Co., 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

  • Bourbon City Barkery, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

  • Ziba’s Bistro, lunch and dinner carry-out

  • Harvey’s Cheese, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

  • Safai Coffee, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Many vendors also will offer gift cards, which help support them through the Coronavirus situation.
