Welcome to HelloLouisvilleKY.com.

(HelloLouisville.com was taken by some guy in LaGrange and he wouldn’t pass it along… smh)

We’ve had this project in our sight for over a year now; so, we’re excited to finally wrap up phase 1.0 and put it out to all of you. Over the past couple of years we’ve read comments, messages, and at the rarest of times, twitter mentions, from people around Louisville about stories we featured on our social channels. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re bad, and some just remind us to stop using one-time-use-plastics when we post a picture from a local coffee shop. Nevertheless, we started as a social channel a short time ago, and we’ve wanted to move in the direction of a full website with longer form content. This allows for more context around our features and stories on Instagram + Facebook. So, here we are. We are not only writing stories in and around Louisville, but somehow we convinced Louisville Legend, and previous writer for Insider Louisville, Kevin Gibson to join our team. Don’t ask us how, we’re still in shock just as much as you may be right now. Go read his post to give insight to who we are and who we’re striving to be. Also, we’re transparent in what we do and we have to bring in fuel for the fire, so if you dig the T-shirts, that’s the best way you can support us!

To give a preview, below is a short write-up of who we are, how we got started, and what we plan on highlighting around Louisville.

In late 2017, we started a project of highlighting Louisville, Kentucky in the way we saw it and began posting these short stories on our social channels. What began as a passion project, geared toward the local modernist, has now evolved into something more. We wanted to create a place where people in Louisville could come and find information on local eateries, breweries, farmers markets, new restaurants, old restaurants, trendy places, dog friendly places, and so much more—without the hassle of all the negative stories one may have to sift through. Don’t get us wrong, the bad is just as important as the good, but we’re here to focus on the good.

Our aim is to bring you the most interesting stories and experiences happening in Louisville—canvasing the food scene, music festivals, startups, entrepreneurs, and individuals making a positive impact on our city—and doing so the way we see it: unfiltered; honest; funny at times; and, most importantly, real. Hello Louisville is all about the people and experiences in this town.

We hope this can become a place where you visit when you’re sitting on the couch on Friday night asking your significant other “Where do you want to eat tonight” or “What are we going to do this weekend.” We hope to bring value and give insight into startups, people making a difference, the food scene, and whatever else you tell us to write about.

We only task you with one project as we move forward . . . Please write to us to give us your favorite spot in Louisville or chime in when you feel compelled. We’re everyday people in Louisville, just like you, and we want this to be for, and about, everyone in this city. We also want to know, just as much as you do, how the new restaurant in the east end is or where to shop local for the holidays. So, please write us and tell us your thoughts.

Thanks and we hope to see you all out there!
